Central Otago's Domain Road Vineyard, near Bannockburn, is sited in a sheltered valley which provides a unique micro-climate, ideal for producing premium wines.
Our Pinot Gris has been whole bunch pressed and fermented to retain a hint of sweetness in an off dry style.
Pears and stonefruit dominate the bouquet, together with hints of quince. The sweet taste of pears and peaches comes through on the palate. This medium bodied wine has a good texture and fine balance.
Enjoy with seafood, white meats, salad dishes or as an aperitif.
Review, Raymond Chan. 5 Stars
.Off-dry, this is an elegantly presented wine with good depth and drive of stonefruit, pear and minerally fruit flavours. There is a gentle lushness which is balanced by excellent acidity and the wine has has a fine textural mouthfeel. The finish is long and sustained with bright floral and honey notes, carried a little by the residual sugar. This gently lush, and fine featured Pinot Gris is extremely well balanced to match fine Asian cuisine over the next 4-5 years....

Raymond Chan - Central Otago is having its fair share of success with Pinot Gris, as the Pinot Gris 2012 (18.0+/20) shows. Fresh, lifted with exotic stonefruits melded with honey on the nose, the palate appears quiet and somewhat restrained initially. Everything is there, with richness and sweetness at 11 g/L RS, along with acid cut and fine texture. This just grows in richness in the glass.
