Central Otago's Domain Road Vineyard, near Bannockburn, is sited in a sheltered valley that provides a unique micro-climate, ideal for producing premium wines
Our Sauvignon Blanc vines are planted partially on the top of Templers Hill, an area left untouched by 19th century gold miners, and partially on Doctors Flat where mining has exposed mineral-rich clays from a 8-15 million year old lake bed.
The grapes were hand harvested in two portions during April 2013. A portion was fermented in French oak barriques and blended back with the rest of the wine before bottling. Some residual sweetness from the grapes was retained to produce a well balanced wine.
Enjoy with seafood, white meats, salad dishes, or as an aperitif.

Raymond Chan - A number of Central Otago producers source Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, but Domain Road uses estate fruit, the Sauvignon Blanc 2013 (17.5-/20) is a blend of upper and lower terrace fruit, with around 24% barrel-fermented. The wine flows with good energy, leading to a light, dry finish. This is an elegant, tightly held Sauvignon Blanc with gently luscious cool-spectrum fruit flavours and fine, dry textures.
