Central Otago's Domain Road Vineyard, near Bannockburn, is sited in a sheltered valley that provides a unique micro-climate, ideal for producing premium wines.
Our Sauvignon Blanc vines are planted partially on the top of Templers Hill, an area left untouched by 19th century gold miners, and partially on Doctors Flat where mining has exposed mineral-rich clays from a 2-million year old lake bed.
Our 2009 vintage displays typical Sauvignon Blanc aromas of black currant flower, capsicum and cut hay with citrus undertones. The palate is soft and textural with tight acidity. Approximately 10% of our 2009 Sauvignon Blanc was fermented in old oak barriques with some lees stirring to add another layer of complexity to the wine. A hint of residual sugar balances the wine’s natural acidity.
Enjoy with seafood, white meats, salad dishes, or as an aperitif.
