Our Paradise Pinot Noir is a very special low production wine showcasing the very best of Domain Road Vineyard for any particular vintage. Late in 2008 we decided that the time was right to produce this wine, only 900 bottles are made from selecting special barrels that we think blend together to show the best of the vintage.
The grapes for our 2011 Paradise were hand harvested on 24 March 2011. After fermentation the wine was aged in French Oak barriques for 10 months. The Paradise wine was chosen and blended at this stage and returned to barrel to mature for a further 4 months.
The 2011 vintage has rich dark fruit on the palate with spicy, charry oak, leather and tobacco. A medium bodied wine with dense, fine grained tannins and some minerality on the finish.
Food match: rabbit, duck, lamb, or sip and contemplate by itself.
