2010 Pinot Noir - Single Vineyard

Our Pinot Noir is grown on our best soils in a part of the vineyard that has not been touched by gold mining. For almost 100 years fruit was grown here, peaches pears and apples originally and then Apricots at a later stage. It has been said that if you can grow Apricots then you can also grow great Pinot Noir and this has certainly been the case at Domain Road.

2010 Pinot Noir was harvested in mid April after a slightly cooler and wetter finish to the growing season. This has given us a wonderfully complex wine. Aromas of dark cherry and spice with hints of violet on the nose with flavours of dark plum and cherry. This wine has lovely long persistence on the finish.

Raymond Chan Wine reviews; …."This is a concentrated, fine-grained and textural Pinot Noir with black fruit flavours and the structure to match most roasted red meat dishes over the next 5-6+ years."...

Bob Campbell; "Elegant wine with good density but definitely not a "fruit bomb" style. Attractive red cherry with appealing savoury/dried herb/spice notes. Smooth-textured and bone/dry"..
