Domain Road Vineyard has another gold medal to its name!

Judges at the International Wine and Spirits Competition have awarded Gold Best in Class to the 2009 Pinot Noir in its annual event.

They described the wine as juicy and sweet with subtle oak flavours. "Very cleverly done, showcasing the fruit in a very benign way."

The judges also said the tannins are "cashmere smooth" and "there are absolutely no rough edges anywhere on this beautifully styled and sculpted wine. A real testament to the talent and reputation of Central Otago".

The IWSC judges are not alone in their high opinion of the wine. Earlier this year the highly respected Decanter magazine awarded the 2009 Pinot Noir a regional trophy, one of its highest accolades.

Last year, the 2008 Pinot Noir won a gold medal at the Air New Zealand wine awards.
